Online shopping has began in England ,before Tim Berners-Lee created World Wide Web ( WWW). In 1979  Michael Aldrich ,an English entrepreneur invented Online shopping. His system is composed of a computer , a television and a telephone.( Like Juke Box )

 

After the invention of WWW ( in 1990 and opened for commercial use in 1991 ) , like other fields Online shopping has also got many advances.

 

In1994 Online banking and Netscape's SSL v2 encryption standard for secure data transfer are implemented, which was a great breakthrough in online shopping, allows consumer to transactions to be completed electronically in real-time .

 

Taking these advantages amazon.com launched its online shopping site in 1995 followed by e-bay.

 

Online customers must have access to the Internet and a valid method of payment in order to complete a transaction.
But Now a days Payment methods are very different like

CASH ON DELIVERY
NET BANKING
CREDIT CARD
DEBIT CARD
etc.

In a December 2011 study, Equation Research surveyed 1,500 online shoppers and found that 87% of tablet owners made online transactions with their tablet devices during the early Christmas shopping season.
